1. What Data We Collect

When you install AEO & AI SEO Optimizer, we collect and store the following data from your Shopify store:

Shop domain (e.g. your-store.myshopify.com) – to identify your store.
Access token – granted by Shopify OAuth, used to read product data on your behalf.
App settings – whether the app is active, your preferred language, and which AI bots you allow.
Product catalog data – product titles, handles, URLs, and prices, fetched via Shopify GraphQL API to generate llms.txt.

We do not collect, store, or process any personal data about your customers.

2. How We Use Your Data

To generate and serve a llms.txt file that helps AI search engines understand your product catalog.
To apply your bot consent preferences (which AI crawlers are allowed/blocked).
To display your app configuration in the dashboard.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties.

3. Data Retention

Your shop data is retained as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall the app, all associated data (shop settings and access token) is permanently deleted from our database within 48 hours of uninstallation.

4. Third-Party Services

The app is hosted on Cloudflare Workers (infrastructure provider). Your data is stored on Cloudflare D1 in the Asia-Pacific region. Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

We use Shopify's API to access your store data. Shopify's privacy policy is available at shopify.com/legal/privacy.

5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

As a Shopify merchant, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within 30 days.

We honor all mandatory Shopify GDPR compliance webhooks: customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access tokens are stored securely in our application database and are only used to authenticate requests to your Shopify store. We do not log or expose access tokens in application logs.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
